Domain Newspaper Stories Part 1

This entry is the first of five entries of the "Reading Rocks at the Domain" Reading Camp newspaper.

Campers Tell All
By Paula Ott

On Tuesday, June 24, I took the opportunity to interview Camper Eddie, the 4th. Eddie, who lives in Lexington, Kentucky, attends Southern Elementary School. Eddie’s favorite thing at Reading Camp is repelling. He likes it because it is fun.
When Eddie graduates from high school, he plans on getting a nice house, a nice car, and going on to college. He wants to be a body constructionist when he grows up. Eddie explained to this reporter, who had no idea what a constructionist was, that it is a person who constructs and paints auto bodies.

I also had the pleasure of interviewing Sakima. He lives in Lexington, where he goes to Clays Mill Elementary School. Sakima reports his favorite activities at Reading Camp are sleeping and eating. Sakima is interested in a certain young lady who lives in Lexington, but he would not reveal her name; it’s a secret.

Kyle, who lives in Lexington, agreed to be interviewed Tuesday morning. Kyle, who is not yet married, attends Tates Creek Elementary School. His favorite thing about Reading camp is all the friends he gets to make. He told this reporter that he does not like anything about the clowns because they are scary. Kyle, who says that he is very popular, has a tattoo on his right arm.
Kyle plans on spending the rest of the summer swimming and going to see his grandmother, who lives in Virginia.

Chrissy lives in Beattyville with her mother, a brother, a sister and 15 animals. She has a hamster, dogs, cats, and two snakes. She likes the likes the camp song about the baby shark the best. Her favorite things about Reading Camp are reading, swimming and writing.

Tamia lives in Lexington, Kentucky where she attends James Lane Allen Elementary School. She will be in the 4th grade this fall. Tamia shares a dog, named “Car-Me”, with her Granny, who also lives in Lexington.
This is Tamia’s second year at Reading Camp. She is getting better and better at swimming, which is her favorite part of camp. Last year, she was too scared to go rappelling, but this year she says she is an “EXPERT”!

While at Camp, I interviewed JW. JW enjoys repelling at Reading Camp and reports that he is scared of nothing at all. JW, age 9, does not have a girlfriend and does not want one.

I interviewed Natasha. She lives in Georgetown Kentucky. When she grows up, she wants to be a doctor. Her favorite food is brocoli cheese. She is ten years old. Natasha has two dogs. And she is not married. She is tired and sleepy when she goes to breakfast. She did not have anything else she wanted to say.

The Lost and Found Corner
By Maddie
On Tuesday afternoon, Terri lost one of her hearing aids. Lucky for Terri, C.C. found the hearing aid Wednesday morning on her way back from breakfast to the Reading Camp. Terri said a big thanks to C.C.
Sometime between Tuesday evening and early Wednesday morning, Paula lost her very favorite cross. The cross has different colored stones on it like red, green, blue and yellow. It is on a silver chain. Paula said she would be very happy is a Reading Camp camper would find the cross and get it back to her.
Eddie, the 4th, reports that his silver and white gym shoes disappeared out of his cabin. His name tag is in his shoes.
